Mottahedeh Blueware Souvenir Nantucket Historical Association Plate Englishware.Here is an 8 3/4” in diameter Mottahedeh blue and white reproduction of a 19th century English Staffordshire Nantucket souvenir plate made by Mottahedeh for the Nantucket Historical Association.
The “Burleigh Ware” original was made by the Burges & Leigh Company
which was founded in Burslem, Staffordshire, England in 1862.
The caption under the old salty relaxing and reading his paper reads “Why Worry?” The four scenes on the front are “Sankoty Head”, “Stone Alley”, the “Baxter House, Sconset” and “Nantucket 1716” lighthouse.
Mottahedeh has been making premier tableware and decorative accessories for over 85 years. It has made china for the President of the United States, the State Department and the Diplomatic Corps.
