    Mottahedeh Lion Top Handled Museum Reproduction Covered Tureen & Tray Italy EXC
    Magnificent 2 piece set produced in Italy for Mottahedeh.
    A lion topped and handled tureen with underplate that was producted for a museum. It is an adaptation of a Worcester piece from the 1700's.The creamware motifs are unusual in that they are applied rather than the typical drawn into the ceramic. The 22K gold in hand applied and hand burnished.
    The tureen holds 128 ounces (4 1/2 quarts). Overall measurement is about 14 1/2 inches long. Creamy white and gold, this would be striking as either a covered serving or centerpiece.
