Vintage Mottahedeh Design Italy Yellow Flower Covered Bowl Urn Lion Head

This is an urn or covered bowl that is georgeous measuring  11.75" high and 6.2" wide.  The "Mottaheddeh Design" (as marked on bottom) piece is a lovely item that will compliment many house design.  I can picture this piece in a traditional setting, an art nouveau display, even modern or mid-century surroundings. As you will see by the pictures, it is a lidded urn, uniquely shaped with arc-style tops that turn up at the ends...as does the lid. This design reminds me of the metal toleware pieces from France...used on their urns and tea caddies. This piece is in good vintage condition. The body is an off white color for most of the body and has  soft yellow and green floral motif. There are gold lion handles on the sides. If you Look up "Mottahedeh" and read about this New York firm that has been synonymous with table-top style and beauty throughout most of the 20th century and specializing in export porcelain reproductions...many still used in the White House.  Care will be taken in packing and mailing this museum quality piece.
